Great food and service, bit of an insect problem. Ugh

Food is good unpretentious and home made. There's no menu to be had but the cuisine is traditional southern breakfast. People are friendly and you seem to always bump into someone you know. Service isn't fast but this isn't the type of place you go to for fast service. My family just moved to Moncks Corner and pancakes at Howard's on a Saturday morning is becoming a tradition. I have 2 rambunctious toddlers and I never feel like they are not welcomed. That to me is deserving of 5 stars.

So I would totally give Howard’s a 5 star but Howard’s Mistress said if she got a 5 star rating, she would have to start charging 5 star prices and that just didn’t seem right. 🤣 So I had to counteract the 5 star rating. Hands down, best experience ever! If you’re having a bad day and have a sense of humor, go to Howard’s. They’ll brighten your day! From the staff to the patrons, Howard’s brings a new meaning to “Southern Hospitality”. Take a detour for this one. You’ll be glad you did!!

This is a packed breakfast joint. You must experience it in person! Southern breakfasts served with attitude (good attitude). No menus, you just tell them what you want and they make it! Food is Yum!

Mike Diamond I had a similar experience. I was told to calm down when I said how hungry I was (had a child with me who was also very hungry). Then I was left waiting and another server acted scared to take my order when I begged to give her my order. Got up and left. Won't ever set foot in this place again.

Great breakfasts- made to order!No menus, but owners will come to your table and make you feel welcome by giving you a breakfast breakdown and make you feel like you are a local resident. Atmosphere is very laid back, old southern hospitality!

Love this place. Mom and pop style restaurant. Great cooks friendly service. Cash only so bring cash. Very reasonablely priced and great portions. Will be back!!

I adore this place so much. Me & My older brother would come here in the mornings before school started for some breakfast. The food is amazing and everyone is so nice. It gives off an “at home” feeling which I love. Would most definitely recommend to my friends ❤️

Love going here for breakfast on Saturday mornings. The staff is super friendly and the food is great. Make sure you bring cash, they don't take credit cards. There is a bank right across the street. You don't need a menu, they'll fix up whatever you like!

Homey atmosphere, friendly staff. The egg salad was delicious. Will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

This place is 5 star all the way. If the waitress is talking, just ask her for her order pad and write down what you want, (there is no menu) and take it to the counter, if you need coffee, go get it, it's kinda like being at home. If you need something, go get it yourself if the waitress (Wanda) is busy. If you get up to get something, make sure you ask if anybody else needs anything while your up. Love this place!!!!

Great food and friendly atmosphere

Walked to a busy place. I was not sure where to sit, so I sat at the counter. After hearing heated words between the cook and counter person, I was told she would be with me shortly. The counter was still full of used dishes. As she began clearing them, I asked for a menu. She laughed at me and pointed at a sign on the wall. Don't ask for a menu. I was surprised by her actions. She then said I needed to lighten up, followed by comments about fixing my face, maybe you're from up north, or I'm over educated. As a teacher, I took great offense and proceeded to leave. Then she said she was joking...."Can't you take a joke?!" Didn't order anything and I don't plan to go back. So much for keeping local.

We love Howard's! The food is fantastic, the prices are reasonable, and Wanda and the family always make us laugh and feel welcome. We love the "old timey" feel of the way things are done.

Great food, great prices, great hometown feel, you walk in and you feel like you've been there before, which a lot have because it's been a fav spot for years!!

Came for coffee, stayed for a really great breakfast and conversation. Good ol’fashion southern hospitality paired with excellent food. The service was fast and we were made to feel right at home. The environment they create is the feel of family and friendship. There are no strangers here, even if it is your first time; like it was for us. I will be back for sure.

Everything about this Classic Gem is worth the Visit. Right down to Miss Verns homemade pies.. I never miss a visit when in Monks Corner.

What a GREAT old diner! Looks like it has been there for 200 years... But food was great! Fun staff as well...

Went in to enjoy breakfast and after our waitress sat down she stated "I don't like her "... referring to a friend that was with me. I asked her why? And as she rubbed her hand down my friend's face she states "because of her complexion.. look at it it's pretty". I'm still wondering if that was meant to be a compliment? She then followed with a story that began with "100 yrs ago ." I was done after that appetite lost decided to leave. How very welcoming.
